Your guides are Mike and Trish Marzell, the only professionally licensed husband and wife charter fishing guides on Big Bear Lake. Mike and Trish have been fishing for rainbow trout together on Big Bear Lake for 20 years. Mike is your captain and Trish is his first mate.
Our goal is for all guests to experience quality fishing, personal attention, fun memories and a safe time
on a clean, fully-equipped pontoon. All rainbow trout fishing is done by trolling, which means we are moving around the lake at a slow speed - a great way to view and enjoy beautiful Big Bear Lake!

Mike and Trish, Thank you again for everything. The four of us had a great time and the fish were delicious. One interesting thing, the fatter one we caught first had pink flesh while the smaller one we caught second had white flesh. The recipe Mike gave us worked to perfection. They were all great. Hope to see you next year.

Hi Trish & Mike: Just a note to thank you both again for the incredible charter fishing experience yesterday! Despite having fished on Big Bear Lake for many years, I learned so much from my time with you. Mike and Trish are the consummate hosts and hardest workers; those lines were always prepared and in the water. If fish weren't biting, the bait or rig was changed. I caught a large Rainbow trout within 5 minutes of taking off from Pleasure Point Marina. After a wonderful 3 hour trip I had 5 large Rainbows! We cooked some of them that night and I've never tasted better fish. Your willingness to teach and demonstrate your fishing tips, your courtesy, knowledge of Big Bear Lake and great sense of humor made this the best trip ever. We recommended you highly and have already told many of our friends. Thank you for giving us a wonderful, exciting yet relaxing break from our hectic lives 'down below.' We plan to see you soon.

Dear Trish and Mike, Thank you for making our family's vacation to Big Bear the best we have taken in years. Our fishing excursions with you were both fun and educational. Reviewed by guy a.- thousand oaks on yelp.com "Went out with my wife, teenage son and stepdaughter this past Friday after booking the '4-7PM' trip online. I was initially impressed with the detailed information on pricing, etc., and the ease of online booking that was available. Being far-removed from my fishing days of childhood, I was hoping to find an 'all-inclusive' package that provided all the rods and reels, bait, lures, and someone who could take us to where the fish were actually biting. (After reading in some of the local literature that August is considered the 'Dog Days of fishing' up in Big Bear, I was just hoping that at least one of the kids would hook into a trout...) When we pulled into the dock three hours later, we were thrilled to count seven beautiful fish, and that was mainly due to the expert guidance of our hosts, Trish and Mike, who immediately felt like old friends and who also assured us that they would handle everything. We rotated two at a time in the rear-facing seats as we trolled the beautiful lake in their very cushy boat; I was amazed at how well padded the seats were; it was equally enjoyable just cruising along looking at my gorgeous wife as the kids sat in back looking at their pole tips waiting for the next hit. In fact this was really the first time during our 5 day stay that I was actually able to completely disconnect from all thoughts of work and just take in the beauty of the lake, the sky, my family, and really just sit silently in a space of gratitude... Trish and Mike had plenty of snacks onboard, although we brought our own, as well as some interesting info about some of the celebrity homes along the lake. Cool tunes were playing on the radio at just the right volume; I remember as we headed back with the sun dropping down behind the mountain and the coolness of the breeze keeping us present and the gentle wafting of Bonnie Raitt's 'Dimming of the Day.' Perfection... After we docked, Trish took a picture of us with our full stringer and then Mike graciously offered to clean the fish for us, an offer we gladly accepted. If you're wanting to venture out on Big Bear Lake and possibly come back with a lot more than just fish, I suggest you book your trip well in advance, as I saw Trish handle several inquiries on her cell phone during our trip and word will surely get out about these guys-they ROCK! :)

Hi, Trish and Mike! Thanks again for the wonderful trip with you! We were all so excited and the charter tour was a highlight of our vacation in Big Bear! Have a wonderful rest of the summer (we are back to routine now, preschool and school started, Ingolf is at work again and my German school also started last week...) We're looking forward to seeing you all again, perhaps in October!

Trish and/or Mike- Here's the best pic of Sophia I with the rainbows caught from our fishing trip with you and Mike two weeks ago. She is still talking about it. Thanks again. She still talks about all of the snacks in the cooler, using her mom's camera, playing with the worms, and feeding one to the trout in the live-well. My wife will clean the other photos up and I will send them along as well. Do you have any openings this Friday, September 11th from 0700 to 1000 hours? There are two definite anglers that want to catch fish. Please advise.
